Lyrics

I’ve been lately thinking, really scratchin’ my head
You see my time is running out, and I wonder what lies ahead
So as with all great questions, I’m doin’ a little search
And Googlin’ up some answers, before I’m coffined up in church
Now it seems the best of minds, have determined if I address
My I’s and T’s, my P’s and Q’s, and always do my best
I’ll die knowing there’s no worry, that I have nothing to fear
For my Savior’s out there waiting, he’s got my rear

What does the future hold
Will it be what’s been foretold
I wanna know what’s comin’ round
When I’m done being old

On this there’s a difference of opinion, He might not even be a “he”
And maybe I ‘m headed for Hell, or a little purgatory
Or maybe I’ll find a pack of virgins, if I’m one of those righteous few
Or maybe nothing awaits me...... in an existential stew.
Or it could be like Blake’s Garden, Garden of Earthly Delights
Or like a Kodak moment, or like an Ah-hah! Insight
Maybe I’ll be with loved ones, family, dogs and friends
But what happens to those ass holes I’d rather not see again?

What does the future hold
Will it be what’s been foretold
I wanna know what’s comin’ round
When I’m done being old

Now one thing I found in common, with all these scenarios
Is that each seems to think their way is the way it's gotta go
So if it's just a matter of opinion, of what you want too believe
I have a few thoughts to propose on what might be right for me

What does the future hold
Will it be what’s been foretold
I wanna know what’s comin’ round
When I’m done being old
